Introduction to the Personal Injury Commission
The NSW Government has recently passed legislation to establish the Personal Injury Commission (PIC). This new body will merge the dispute resolution systems of the workers compensation and CTP insurance schemes into a single independent tribunal from March 2021.

Judge Gerard Phillips
President @Personal Injury Commission of NSW
Judge Gerard Phillips was appointed as a judge of the District Court of New South Wales on 23 November 2019. He was recently appointed as the President of the Personal Injury Commission of New South Wales, which will be established on 1 March 2021 and which will be Australia’s newest tribunal. Prior to his appointment, Judge Phillips was a solicitor in private practice for over 30 years. He practised in every state in Australia and in the United Kingdom and was a partner at the global law firm K&L Gates where he served on its global management committee. Gerard is a Council Fellow of St John’s College within the University of Sydney.
